Seafood : Main Species

  Hoki (Macruronus novaezelandiae)
One of the worlds prime white fish species. It is caught in New Zealand and Argentina and processed both at sea and on land. Hoki is available in H&G form, as fillets, and further processed to added value products.
     

  Southern Blue Whiting (Micromesistius australis)
A white fish popular for reprocessing and has become well known through out the world. Available as H&G and in added value form.
     


 

 


Blue Mackerel (Scomber australasicus)
& Jack Mackerel (Trachurus declivis)

Both large catches within the NZ Economic zone.
Demand for these species has grown to be spread all over the world.

     

  New Zealand Arrow Squid (Nototodarus sloani)
Available whole, in H&G, and also in added value forms such as cleaned tubes and rings. We also deal in Argentinean Illex Squid.
     

  NZ Greenshell Mussels (Perna canaliculus)
These Mussels are farmed in New Zealand waters and adhere to the highest quality standards. They have become known worldwide for this high quality, as well as their unique size and colour.
     

  Silver Warehou (Seriolella punctata)
The meat quality of Silver Warehou has now grown to be recognised in a good many markets. MI is able to offer from NZ, Australia, and Argentina. Available in H&G form.
     

  Barracouta (Thyrsties atun)
Barracouta is fished in good volumes within the NZ economic zone. The specification supplied is H&G. Demand for this product growing to it’s year round availability.
     

  Frostfish (Lepidopus caudatus)
A small to medium sized catch from NZ waters, with strong demand for the volumes available from. Available in H&G form.
